This episode is a special called: Itazura na Kiss 2: Love in Okinawa. The episode revolves around their honeymoon in Okinawa!! The rest of the series will air later on in the year (24th of November) which I will be recapping.
Recap
We start off with the lovely couple jetting off to Okinawa for their honeymoon. Aihara Kotoko (Miki Honoka) looking as blissful as can be and Irie Naoki (Furukawa Yuki) sleeping very elegantly.
Kotoko attempts to speak english on the plane to the stewardess (not very well though)... causing Houriuchi Mari (Masuda Yuka) across the aisle to laugh; she also happens to be on her honeymoon.
Irie-kun continues to sleep whilst Kotoko reveals their love story to Mari and Takumi (Okabe Nao). "I was the one who tried to hit on him like crazy" - cue flashbacks to season one's highlight moments.
Mari: "Wait, so you mean..."
Kotoko: nods*
Mari: "You're kidding? You haven't slept with him yet?" - Practically shouting, everyone on the plane perks their heads and ears up. Mari mentions something about a Narita divorce?
At the airport, Kokoto and Mari mix up their identical suitcases. Both couples coincidentally are also staying at the same hotel. Throughout the day, Mari fangirls over Irie-kun's good looks which causes much jealousy from Kotoko.
At the hotel, the two meet A.N.JELL (Taiwanese version) who happen to be filming an MV in Okinawa. Irie-kun displays his Mandarin skills to translate for over joyed Aihara.
In their room, they have a serious conversation.
Kotoko: "I'll do my best to become a good wife"
Irie-kun: "I don't expect much, just stay the way you are...stay who you are" Awww
The lovey-dovey moment is ruined by a phone call from Mari.
Cut to the pool side. Mari takes Irie-kun away for drinks. Kotoko lectures Takumi about what disciplines he is teaching his wife - he has obviously caught on that Mari likes Irie but he hasn't stopped her. His answer: "yeah, but my love was one-sided for a long time" - remind you of someone??
A little voice says "Stupid Kotoko, it's funny how you say that." - Did Yuki come too?
A blonde wigged lady appears to accidently get between Mari clinging onto Irie-kun... is that your mother??
HA! It is, her and Yuki attempt VERY hard to speak English. "Let's go to the beach" "Sandy, wait!" - LOL
Kotoko remains oblivious whilst Irie-kun has caught on.
The two couples go for drinks... Kotoko passes out after a drink... Irie-kun piggy backs her. K.O.
Day 2 of Vacay
Of course they want their picture taken, Kotoko happens to ask this random
Even her father came! LMAO!
Kotoko: "I've seen those guys before... Oh, at the swimming pool!" Hahah
Once again, Mari butts in on their date.
They all go see the yellow python. Picture time - Cheese!
Followed by a visit to a fish market, where once again Mari is there
Day 4 - Mari again...
Day 5 - Mari again, now linking arms with Irie-kun...
Day 6
Their last day in Okinawa - aquarium date and a wedding photo shoot at a chapel. No Mari? Spoke too soon.
Photogrpaher: "We are expecting another couple today" - in comes Mari
Later that night, they get a knock on the door. It's Takumi, asking for Irie-kun's to help Mari who has severe pains in her stomach. Irie-kun agrees to take a look. He checks her pulse and asks to see her stomach.
Kotoko: "No! Don't touch her Irie-kun... Don't touch another girl"
Irie-kun: "That's enough! You married a guy who's going to be a doctor. You better be aware of that." "Are you always going to be that way when I see patients? I don't want to deal with that. If you don't understand, I can't be with you anymore."
Kotoko leaves the room crying.
He diagnoses that she has a mild case of food poisoning and informs Takumi that the pharmacy should still be open, he hurriedly goes out to buy medicine.
Once Takumi leaves, Mari bounces back up to grab Irie-kun as he leaves. Telling him she made it all up, wanting to be alone with Irie-kun. She mentions how he and Kotoko haven't done it yet, wishing that she met him before her because she fell in love at first sight and comparing herself to Kotoko. He pushes her off himself, telling her to shut up.
Takumi comes back realising he forgot his wallet. He noticed that Irie-kun had left angry.
Mari: "He fooled me."
Takumi: "Mari-chan?"
Mari: "I'll definitely break them up! He didn't have to be that mean."
Takumi slaps her across the face... Mari threaten that it's over.
Takumi: "It's right that I started with a one-sided crush. But, now we're married, we're together in the same place! You're my wife! Don't give your heart to another guy! Do you get it?"
Mari: nods "Yes"
Kotoko walks around aimlessly; getting lost.
Some random foreigner approaches her and asks whether he can help. Naturally she is freaked out because she doesn't understand English (plus he came out of nowhere).
She screams for "Naoki-kun" - they reunite as he hears "I don't want a Narita divorce!"
The random has a laugh about Kotoko being his wife. He thought she was an elementary school student. Irie-kun shows off his English skills acting as a translator once again.
They relocate to the beach. Kotoko thanks him for coming.
Irie-kun: "Your scream was really loud."
She also apoloigises for being jealous. He calls her stupid and that he was worried about her... they kiss...
Back at the hotel they do it.
Flying back home it is! Mari and Takumi are on the same flight, they are very lovey-dovey with each other; giggling and feeding each other. Kotoko notices that and decides to rest her head on Irie-kun's shoulder. Also on the flight is their family in costume - his mother doesn't miss the opportunity to snap more pictures.
THOUGHTS
These two are beyond cute together. His family is so cute too and Kotoko's father. All of them make for such a cute family. Have I over used "cute"? All the interactions, from the team effort stalking to snapping pictures at every opportunity, there is never a dull day.
That slap though... not sure what to think about it. I couldn't help but cringe when that scene occurred. Let's leave it at that.
